The figure depicts data reported by FDIC to the EEOC on the average number of processing days for all EEO discrimination complaint closures and compares FDIC’s average processing days to the federal sector average during fiscal years 1996 through 2004.
- In 1996, the average number of days for ODEO to close a discrimination complaint was 707 while the average number of days for the federal government to close a discrimination complaint was 379.
- In 1997, the average number of days for ODEO to close a discrimination complaint increased to 756 while the average number of days to close a discrimination complaint in the federal government increased to 391.
- In 1998, the average number of days for ODEO to close a discrimination complaint remained relatively unchanged at 757 and the average number of days for the federal government to close a discrimination complaint decreased to 384.
- In 1999, the average number of days for ODEO to close a discrimination complaint decreased slightly to 744 while the average number of days for the federal government to close a discrimination compliant increased to 423.
- In 2000, the average number of days for ODEO to close a discrimination complaint decreased to 607 and the average number of days for the federal government to close a discrimination complaint increased to 472.
- In 2001, the average number of days for ODEO to close a discrimination complaint increased to 752 while the average number of days for the federal government to close a discrimination complaint decreased to 464.
- In 2002, the average number of days for ODEO to close a discrimination complaint increased to 1131 and the average number of days for the federal government to close a discrimination complaint decreased to 418.
- In 2003, the average number of days for ODEO to close a discrimination complaint decreased slightly to 1125 and the average number of days for the federal government to close a discrimination complaint increased to 541.
