The chart entitled, NFE Conversion Stages, shows the five basic steps of data conversion: assess, analyze, design, build, and implement. Each basic step is further defined in "Table 1: NFE Conversion Development Cycle". The FDIC had developed the high-level data conversion approach for the NFE implementation at the FDIC. The approach provided guiding principles common among all data conversion from legacy systems to PeopleSoft applications.
