September 23, 2004
Audit Report No. 04-039

Text Box: The FDIC Assessment Rating Definitions

There are three assessment ratings. They are depicted as a letter inside a colored circle.

First rating: The letter "G" inside a green circle. Description: The project is performing as is expected to continue to perform according to plan and to deliver all of the expected functionality.

Second rating: The letter "Y" inside a yellow circle. Description: The project's overall performance varies slightly (up to 10 percent) from the project plan and is likely to be slightly over budget or slightly behind schedule, and the functionality to be delivered may not conform in certain respects to the original plan.

Third rating: The letter "R" inside a red circle. Description: The project's overall performance varies significantly from the project plan. Cost overruns, schedule slippages, and material variances from desired functionality in the system ultimately delivered are all present or are quite likely to varying degrees and, taken as a whole, show a project that is at serious risk in the absence of corrective action.
